The people, professional background and working practice behind REDLIGHT STUDIO.
RED LIU
Founder, Mixing Engineer, Recording Engineer & Music Producer.
At Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Red studied with Grammy Award-winning recording engineer Lu Xiao Xing, developing a foundation in critical listening and classical recording and mixing. His early career also covered television sound production, recording-studio systems integration and professional recording practice.
He later served as chief recording engineer and studio manager at Music King, joining frontline projects with Luca Bignardi while studying under him. In 2017, he helped establish NEWBAND STUDIO and led its day-to-day studio operation through 2022, alongside his work as a mixing and recording engineer.
His broader experience includes film re-recording mixing, sound design, production sound, live PA and PGM operation. After a period of independent practice, he founded REDLIGHT STUDIO in 2025.
Luca Bignardi
ACOUSTIC DESIGN & TECHNICAL COLLABORATION
Four-time Grammy Award winner Luca Bignardi contributed to REDLIGHT STUDIO's acoustic design, technical direction and final room calibration. His long experience in recording and mixing informed the room geometry, low-frequency control, monitoring environment and real working state of the studio's three production systems.
